TOGETHER FOR A SOUND VISION
In 2010, IASA and the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) will come together for the first time in a joint conference. The IASA/AMIA Conference will provide an opportunity for colleagues and those interested in all aspects of the field to meet, share information and discover mutual solutions.
We are very lucky to have Anthony Seeger (UCLA) as our keynote at IASA this year. His paper is entitled “Before Convergence Was Divergence: Putting Humpty Dumpty Together Again” and in it he will examine convergence, the assumed foundation of much of our digital approaches, from a different aspect. Tony will focus our thinking about convergence using the lens of “one or two total events”. You will find his abstract on Wednesday of the program at http://www.iasa-conference.com/programme.
The preliminary programme and selected abstracts of papers and sessions of the joint IASA-AMIA 2010 conference are now available:
All IASA/AMIA 2010 conference sessions, including sessions, workshops, registration and receptions, will take place in the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, 1200 Market Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19107, USA.
Early registration is open.
To register, go to http://www.amiaconference.com/2010/2010_joint_site/registration.htm and if you are a IASA member click on the green IASA button.
Please note: this is a joint program with AMIA and all the conference program, and almost all the other events are open to all conference registrants, but you can only book the IASA conference dinner from the IASA button.
